Ecological Footprint CalculationsThe goals of this assignment are:* For you to get a rough idea of how much of the earth's space you require to support your current life style. What do I do First? you will begin by downloading the Lab Sheet. As you work through each section of the webquest, answer the corresponding questions on your lab sheet. When you have finished, you will submit your lab sheet to me for a grade. 1. Calculate Your Ecological FootprintIt is possible to calculate a personal Ecological Footprint, using the Footprint Calculator from 'Redefining Progress'.Answer all questions to the best of your ability. Guess if necessary.Keep an eye on the little blue box that floats on your upper right to see how each choice affects your Carbon Footprint. Next, go to the footprint calculator at 'Earthday.org'.Work your way through this calculator using the more detailed questions on the bottom. 2. Compare Your Ecological FootprintInvestigate the Ecological Footprint of your country in relation to two other countries: (i) one with a similar footprint, and (ii) one that has a contrasting footprint. Using this data, answer the remaining questions on your Lab sheet. What do I turn in for a Grade?I would like for you to reflect on what you have learned from this assignment and answer the questions on the lab sheet. You may write or type your answers on paper to hand in or you may submit your answers in the text of an email message. If you are feeling adventerous you may send your answers as an attachment MS word, or pdf file (note: lateness will not be excused due to technical difficulty so be sure you can print out a copy if all else fails!)
